111
One bass, one guitar, one drum kit and a single shared fire. Lyon trio 111 play the way you join a struggle: no filter, no good manners and no apologies, turning rock into a place to breathe, dance and think.
Biography
111 shakes you, shoves you, sets you free and brings people together, with enough belief to make walls tremble. Led by a fiery bassist-singer — Emma Cordenod on vocals and bass, with Yvain Poncet on guitar and Jules Barras on drums — the trio, formed in 2022 between Lyon and Saint-Étienne, plays the way you join a struggle: no filter, no good manners, no apologies.
Post-punk, noise or 'just' rock, 111 flies across genres the way you fan embers. Style is not a costume but a weapon to say no, loud and clear, to everything that damages. The lyrics are frontal and political: they name violence, attack injunctions, expose absurdity and reclaim bodies — songs for those who get interrupted, judged and nearly erased.
On stage, unruly bodies move without negotiating their existence: shouting, breaking free of the norm, gaining confidence and healing. Honed by more than a hundred shows on the independent circuit, the trio released the album Oh Wow! and joined Jaspir Prod's Le Satellite programme. Emma Cordenod is also the author of In Uterock (2016), portraits of twelve women rock musicians from the Rhône-Alpes region.
