Lovana
Lovana — 'The Heritage' in Malagasy — brings Madagascar's sacred music into dialogue with trip-hop and Berlin techno. Possessed polyphonies, traditional percussion and electronic beats: a trance built for the stage, crowned by the album Jiro (2026).
Biography
Lovana ('The Heritage') was born from the meeting of Malagasy artists Golly and Bema with Nantes drummer-producer Aurèle, united by a passion for Madagascar's sacred popular music. The trio shapes a singular sound built for trance, interweaving vocal polyphonies, traditional percussion and electronic beats.
The voice of Golly Miantsa and the rhythmic science of Bema, singer-percussionist from Antsirabe, unfold shivering polyphonies inspired by tromba ceremonies, while Aurèle Guibert drives the whole with Afro-electro beats and hypnotic programming. Their debut album, Jiro, was released in June 2026 (RFI Talent & World Tour Records) to praise from Télérama and FIP.
After touring widely across France and Madagascar, Lovana unveiled a powerful new live show — trip-hop rhythms, tribal motifs and Berlin techno — developed with Tangui Le Cras. From Vieilles Charrues to Fusion Festival, the trio stands out as one of the most vibrant acts in today's world music.
