Biography

'My shows are for every pair of ears willing to hear what tales have carried since the dawn of time': this is how Marie Dragic presents her art. A storyteller, she takes her audiences from the beginnings of life to its end, with tales that speak to each listener in a language of their own — poetry for hearts, messages for souls, initiation for minds.

Her repertoire, carried by L'arbre à contes (The Tale Tree), offers themes for every age: 'Princes et Princesses' and 'D'aussi loin que les arbres se souviennent…' from age 7, 'Monstres et Merveilles', 'Miam / Beurk', 'Noël' and 'Gare au Loup!' from age 3. With Blanc Manteau, a musical tale show about winter created with musician Franck Mercier, she blends storytelling, clowning, dance and song; 'La trop grande aventure', a musical tale by Evelyne Gallet, speaks to children who want to become themselves.

Marie Dragic loves closeness and intimacy with her audience: she feeds on its emotions as much as she offers her own. Her shows for toddlers and kindergarten children are colourful, visual, noisy and energetic, while other tales need nothing more than a soft rug and a voice. She performs in libraries, schools, colleges, early-childhood venues, theatres, restaurants and private homes — including a tour of the CAPI library network (Porte de l'Isère) with 'Quand CAPI conte!'.
