DodoFest: the party begins with a door opening

Article no. 282 · DodoFest · October 29, 2026 · Festival TV

Abidjan, Rabat, Niamey, Conakry: the big end-of-year gatherings are approaching, and with them the same question — where can you sleep without emptying your budget? DodoFest, Festival TV's free hosting service between festival-goers, is launching its campaign: we are looking for hosts who open their door, and we are offering a roof to everyone heading out to a festival.

A ticket, a programme, a suitcase — and then the wall: accommodation. During a festival, nearby hotels sell out or send their prices climbing, and it is often the roof that decides whether you go… or give up. DodoFest was born from that observation, with a simple idea: during the party, the people who live near a festival open their door to the people who come to live it — free of charge. "The Airbnb of festivals, by Festival TV", minus the bills.

Festivals just ahead, doors to open

The end of the year is busy on Festival TV: Afrik Fashion Week in Abidjan, from 11 to 15 November, Visa For Music in Rabat, from 18 to 21 November, the Sahel Festival in Niamey and Maradi, from 20 to 29 November, then the Guinean Music Fair in Conakry, on 15 and 16 December, as part of the Victoires de la Musique Guinéenne. Four cities, four celebrations — and at the foot of every festival page on festivaltv.tv, the "Where to sleep" block puts DodoFest first. If you live in one of these cities, or near any festival in our catalogue — more than 1,200 listings around the world —, your door matters.

Heading to a festival: sleep at a festival-goer's home

On the traveller's side, the journey takes a few simple steps: browse the listings at festivaltv.tv/en/dodofest, choose the sleeping spot that suits you — every listing shows the spot in photos, six minimum, describes the neighbourhood without ever giving the exact address and states the distance to the festival —, then send your request from your Festival TV account, which is free. Identity is verified on both sides before any confirmation: trust is not a slogan, it is the condition. And the price? Zero. Festival TV only makes the introduction: no payment ever passes through the platform. It is our official commitment, and it holds for the whole site: "Festival TV is free for you because partners pay for the party to be seen."

You live near a festival: your couch is worth gold

On the host's side, the principle is the same, reversed: a spare room for the length of a festival, a couch, a guest bed, a corner of garden for a tent. DodoFest hosts are festival-goers — or licensed accommodation professionals — who choose their dates and describe their sleeping spot transparently, photos included. Identity is verified before the listing is even published. And the transparency goes all the way: our sample listings are labelled as such — it is our trademark. Opening your door is also a different way to live the festival: a guest telling you about the concerts at breakfast, a city being shared, an improvised guide for an evening — and often, a friendship that stays when the party is over.

One account, and the party takes shape

Everything runs through the Festival TV account — free, created in a minute. It is what opens the platform's deeper services: posting your host listing, requesting a sleeping spot, uploading your festival photos and videos, following your requests. And activity counts: what you do on the platform earns Festivos, our activity points, which will serve the coming games and prize draws — festival and concert tickets offered by our partners. Enough to turn a simple roof into the start of an adventure.

So, for the next festival: will you be the door that opens, or the traveller it welcomes? Either way, the party begins the same way — with a meeting. DodoFest: sleep for free at a festival-goer's home.
