Ali Farka Touré Band
Ali Farka Touré's musicians bring his legacy — Group — desert blues, Songhai music (commendation to Ali Farka Touré)
Biographie
Ali Farka Touré died in 2006, leaving behind an orphaned orchestra — and an immense repertoire, from Niger River blues to the classics of The Source and Talking Timbuktu. In 2014, his former musicians reformed as the Ali Farka Touré Band, with singer-guitarist Afel Bocoum, his travelling companion, to keep this music alive on stage. At FIWA 2023, the band devoted a whole night to the master's memory, in southern Mali.
