Biographie
Born on 16 September 1972 in Staouéli, near Algiers, Amazigh Kateb is an Algerian singer, son of writer Kateb Yacine. Arrived in Grenoble in 1988, he founded in 1992 Gnawa Diffusion, a leading group of the fusion gnawa, reggae and chaâbi. Solo since 2007 (album Marchez noir, 2009), he also gathered Gnawa Diffusion, who published the EP Rwina in 2025.
