Amzy
"The National Gandaogo": Hamza Ganem, says Amzy, captures the reality of Burkina Faso's youth — Kundé d'Or 2024, a full stadium in Ouagadougou and an American tour in 2025.
Hamza Ganem, known as Amzy, was born in Ouagadougou, Hamdallaye. He was passionate about hip-hop in 2009, participated in rap competitions, published his first single "Controverse" in 2015 and officially started in 2019 with Destiny Prod's album "Insurrection".
His second album, "My Mission" (5 February 2021), mixed urban hits and African sounds. On 15 May 2021, he filled the Palais des sports de Ouaga 2000 (about 8,000 places), and then gave a charitable concert for internally displaced persons in September 2022. His third album, "Free" (29 September 2023), carries a message of emancipation that became his signature.
In 2024, he filled the Issoufou Joseph Conombo stadium and won the Kundé d'Or and the Kundé du meilleur féaturement burkinabè for "Burkina" with Awa Sissao. Promoted the caravan "Our Voices for Peace", he toured in the United States in 2025.
