Basetsana Maluleke, known as Bassie, grew up in Windmill Park, Boksburg, Gauteng, where she sang from the age of five or six. She revealed herself in 2020 with "Bathandwa", alongside MFR Souls, which revealed her warm and soulful voice in the heart of the amapiano.

In October 2023, his title "Kwelanga" made his debut in the Adulting Series on Showmax and became a gold record. The sequel, "Kwelanga 2.0", with Tman Xpress and LeeMcKrazy, exceeded all expectations: triple victory at the Metro FM Music Awards 2025 and the most streamed song title of the year at the SAMA31.

With his first solo album, Umculo (December 2024), and collaborations like "Izenzo" with Aymos, awarded at the Metro FM Awards, Bassie has established herself as one of the great female voices of the Amapiano.
