Edwin Eshun was born on 17 October 1999 in Kumasi, a family native of Cape Coast. He grew up in Santasi, played drums in church from childhood and attended the Kumasi Anglican Senior High School. He began his career in 2018 with titles such as "Cinderella" and "Distance Relationship".

As a rising figure in the Asakaa movement, he merged Kumasi's drill with hiplife, hip-hop, afrobeats and highlife. His EP "Different Type of Gangster" (2023) brought O'Kenneth, Reggie and City Boy together; in 2024, "Fly Girl" with Oseikrom Sikanii — and then his remix with Gyakie — propel him to the foreground, and he collaborated with Sarkodie on "Amen".

In 2025, he won the Best New Artist Award at the Telecel Ghana Music Awards and released his first album, "Power" (August 2025), 16 tracks with Sarkodie, Gyakie and Himra. His name, KOTM, means "King of the Moment".
