Bruce Melodie
Itahiwacu Bruce, says Bruce Melodie, is Kigali's superstar: a Kinyarwanda R&B from "Katerina" to the "Colorful Generation" album by S-Curve Records.
Bruce Melodie, by his real name Itahiwacu Bruce, was born in 1992 in Rwanda and grew up in Kigali. He became known in the early 2010s and imposed a style of his own: R&B ballads sung in Kinyarwanda, open to atropop and dancing rhythms, with tubes such as "Katerina" and "Saa Moya".
His career took on a continental dimension: collaborations with Khaligraph Jones ("Sawa Sawa"), Diamond Platnumz, and then the award for the best artist from East Africa at Trace Awards 2023. Signed at the American label S-Curve Records, he multiplied the concerts in the region, from the Raha Fest of Nairobi to Ugandan scenes.
In January 2025, he released "Colorful Generation", his great album of 21 tracks mixing Afropop, Amapiano and R&B, with Joeboy, Shaggy, Blaq Diamond, Bensoul and Bien — whose duo "Iyo Foto" surpassed 100 million views on TikTok. The album was named Album of the Year at the Isango na Muzika Awards in December 2025.
