Formed in Cairo in 2003, Cairokee became the most popular rock band in the Arab world, from small Cairo scenes to stadiums.
Cairo was formed in 2003 as the Black Star. Its name contracted "Cairo" and "karaoke": an invitation to sing the city. The band brought together Amir Eid (song, guitar), Sherif Hawaii (guitar), Tamer Hashem (drums), Adam El-Alfy (bass) and Sherif Mostafa (claviers).
The band became known throughout the Arab world with generational hymns such as "Ya El Medan", in duet with Aida El Ayouby. In 2014, he signed with Sony Music Middle East and published El Sekka Shemal, and then followed the albums, including Roma in 2022, which were worn by the titles "Ana Negm", "Basrah w Atooh", "James Dean" and "Samurai".
A true stage phenomenon, Cairkee fills the largest theatres in Egypt and is filming in Europe and North America. In June 2025, his concert "Cairokee Empire" at the Cairo International Stadium marks the biggest event in its history.
