Dlala Thukzin
Dlala Thukzin, a producer of Durban, spent from gqom to amapiano, is the architect of several of the greatest South African anthems of the decade.
Thuthuka Wandile Zindlovu, Dlala Thukzin, was born on 25 April 1997 in Lamontville, a township in Durban. He was very young as a producer when he worked on Gqom Queen Vol. 1 (2016) of Babes Wodumo, in the midst of a gqom explosion, the raw sound born in Durban.
Solo, he has been following the successes: "Phuze" (2021), gold certified and then platinum in remix version, then "iPlan" (2023), extract from Permanent Music 3, which dominates South African rankings and becomes a double platinum record. At both the platinum and studio, he merges gqom, amapiano and 3-step in a recognizable style between a thousand.
Awarded two years in a row at the South African Music Awards — Best Collaboration and Best Dance Album at the SAMA30, then Best Dance Album at the SAMA31 for Finally Famous Too — he released the Mayvis album in 2025 and established himself as one of the leading producers of the African dance scene.
