Dobet Gnahoré was born on 17 June 1982 in Ivory Coast, daughter of Boni Gnahoré, master percussionist of the company Ki Yi M'Bock of Abidjan, where she trained from childhood in theatre, dance, music and singing.

Singing, dancing and musician, she sings in many African languages and builds an Afro-pop repertoire nourished by traditions from all over the continent.

In 2010, she won a Grammy Award for "Pearls", sung in duo with India.Arie: with drummer Paco Séry, she became one of the first two Ivorian artists to receive the Grammy Awards.

From "Ano Neko" (2004) to "Color" (2021), her albums toured the world, hailed by Le Monde, RFI and Jeune Afrique.

Back living in Côte d'Ivoire, she published in 2024 "Zouzu", a luminous Afro-pop album produced in Abidjan, carved for the scene where she deploys legendary energy.
