Driemo
A soul voice from Malawi, Driemo (Shafie Phiri) has been following the successes since "Love Letter" and confirmed his status with the album "The Magician" in 2025.
Driemo, by his real name Shafie Phiri, is a Malawian singer and songwriter signed by Van Ngongo Entertainment. He started his musical career in 2017 and published in 2020 his first EP, "Love Letter", worn by titles such as "Mojo", "Weni-Weni" and "Pano". His melody voice and his texts anchored in everyday life quickly made him one of the rising figures of Malawi's pop, with successes such as "Mtendere", "Duma" or "Compensation".
In August 2023, he launched his first album, "Mzaliwa", in Blantyre, a 22-title project that multiplied regional collaborations, from Yo Maps to Gwamba, to Skeffa Chimoto and Chile One Mr Zambia. A multi-primitive artist, he spreads across Malawi's borders, particularly in neighbouring Zambia, where his titles met a wide audience.
On November 14, 2025, Driemo released "The Magician", an album that combines Afrobeat, soul and Malawian rhythms around the themes of love and hope, officially launched on November 22, 2025 at the Bingu International Convention Centre in Lilongwe. The video by "Joker", from the album, exceeds 28 million views on its official YouTube channel, and its "Follow-up" collaboration with Triple M is distinguished at the Kwacha Music Awards 2025.
