FOLA, by its real name Odunlami Afolarin (Folarin Odunlami), was born on 26 April 1999 in Lagos. He fine-tuned his writing for several years before being noticed with "Ginger Me", alongside Bella Shmurda, in 2022.

The breakthrough came in 2024 with "Alone", in duo with BhadBoi OML: the title became viral on TikTok, reached 4th place in the Apple Music Nigeria ranking and 7th of the UK Afrobeats Chart; his remix with BNXN propeled him number one of the taps in Nigeria. In October 2024, FOLA signed with Dangbana Republik, the label of Bella Shmurda, and published the EP "What A Feeling".

In 2025, he followed collaborations with Wizkid, Kizz Daniel and Zlatan, and released his first album, "Catharsis" (September 2025), one of the biggest Nigerian debuts of the year on Spotify.
