Holy Ten
Holy Ten, the undisputed leader of Zimbabwe's hip hop, tells the story of Harare's townships with a feather that has conquered a whole generation.
Mukudzei Chitsama, says Holy Ten, was born on 18 November 1998 in Harare. He started his first album in the rap and released his first albums, Early Retirement (2018) and Suicide Notes (2019), which installed his direct and introspective writing, between shona and English.
Popular success came with "Ndaremerwa", then the albums Risky Life (2021), Energy (2022) and The Book of Malachi (2023) made him the central figure of the Zim hip-hop. In 2021, he founded his label, Samanyanga Sounds, to produce his music independently.
In March 2023, he dominated the Changamire Awards, the trophies of Zimbabwe's hip hop. With Risky Life 2 (2024) and Musoro WeNzou (2025), and a YouTube channel with more than 400,000 subscribers, Holy Ten remained the most listened to voice in Harare's youth.
