Jessy B
Brazzaville's daughter, DJ King Biggerman, Jessy B, won the RFI 2023 Discovery Prize and is the leading figure in women's rap in Central Africa.
Jessy B, by her real name Jessica Francia Diatsona Biggerman, was born on 17 June 2002 in Brazzaville. Rapper's daughter and DJ King Biggerman, who also became her arranger and manager, bathed in music from childhood and accompanied her father on stage from the age of five.
She signed at 17 years of age at Color Optic Studios and started in 2019 with "Beautiful Baby". In the same year, she won the Prix des Scènes Chempen Mboté HipHop, and was elected revelation at the Brazza Best Awards 2020. Her texts, between rap and Afro-rap, carry messages of awakening and autonomy for young people.
On 13 December 2023, she won the RFI Discovery Prize, becoming the fifth Congolese winner of this award — and the only woman in the country to have received it. The prize was awarded to her on 13 June 2024 during a great concert at the Institut français du Congo, followed by an African-European RFI tour in more than twelve countries, and then a collaboration with Black M, "La vie est belle" (2025).
