King Luca
Revealed by an open-faced challenge, Cameroonian singer King Luca signed with Akumba Music in 2024 and made a name with "Fragile", "Ashuabi" and "Orey".
King Luca grew up in Nso, North West Cameroon, in a multireligious family whose sensibilities nourished his writing. Before full-time music, he took a training in nursing, and became noticed by his soul voice and his stories sung in English, French and pidgin.
The click comes from the open-encouraged challenge launched around Elisha K's "Joana": his verse impresses Achu Normad, owner of the Akumba Music label, who signed it in July 2024 for a seven-year contract covering production, distribution and artistic development. His participation is on Elisha K's "Days of Elisha Epistle II" EP, released on July 12, 2024.
Since then, King Luca has been performing the singles noted — "Fragile", "Ashuabi" (with Krys M), "Orey", "Queen of the Queens" — and has performed in particular in the United Kingdom, Togo and Dubai. In 2025, "Fragile" earned him an appointment to AFRIMA as Most Promising Artist of the Year, a first for an artist from Akumba Music label.
