King Mensah, born on 12 August 1971 in Togo, of a Togolese father and a Beninese mother, began at nine years of age in a ballet of traditional folk music, then in the band Les Dauphins de la Capitale. In the early 1990s, he played at the Ki Yi M'Bock Theatre in Werewere Liking in Côte d'Ivoire, an experience that opened his tours in Europe, Japan and Guyana.

Based in Lomé, he sings in mina, ewé and French music that merges agbadza and akpessé éwé and kabyè dance rhythms with funk, reggae and atropop. His texts, filled with hope, encourage orphans and the poorest; he is an officer of the Mono Order.

In 2005, he founded the King Mensah Foundation, dedicated to the protection and education of orphans, with an orphanage in Agbodrafo. His ninth album, "Denyigba" (2020), was released in concert in Cotonou; in December 2026, he celebrated 30 years of career at the Lomé Congress Hall.
