Lokua Kanza
The velvety voice of the rumba and Congolese song — Singer, guitarist and composer — rumba, Afro-pop
Biographie
Pascal Lokua Kanza, born April 21, 1958 in Bukavu, is one of the finest voices of Congolese music: delicate guitar, chiselled vocal harmonies, songs in Lingala, French and English. From his debut album Lokua Kanza (1992) to Moko (2021), through Wapi Yo and Plus vivant, he has built a goldsmith's body of work, acclaimed on stages everywhere. In 2018, the Africa Festival in Würzburg filmed his concert for its 30th edition.
