Medikal
Medikal is one of the major figures of Ghanaian hip hop, from Sowutuom to Accra's greatest scenes, with a fast flow and mind-full verb.
Samuel Adu Frimpong, dit Medikal, was born on 5 April 1994 in Sowutuom, in the suburbs of Accra, Ghana. His stage name comes from his youthful fascination with the medical universe, which he glide into his early texts. He is distinguished by a rapid flow, a sharp sense of the word of mind and a mixture of gharian pidgin and slang.
In 2016, he won the Best Discovery Video Award at the MTN 4Syte Music Video Awards for "Anthem". At the 2017 Ghana Music Awards, he won seven nominations — as well as Sarkodie, a record for this edition — and in 2018 passed through the Tim Westwood Show in London. His titles "Omo Ada", "La Hustle" and "Too Risky" became popular successes.
In 2025, his title "Shoulder", with Shatta Wale and Beeztrap KOTM, dominated the airwaves and platforms in Ghana. On 13 December 2025, he completed the Accra Sports Stadium for his concert event "Beyond Kontrol", then named Concert of the Year at IRAWMA.
