MPR
Duo Kinois, formed by Yuma Dash and Zozo Machine, MPR (Popular Music of the Revolution) tells Kinshasa and the Congo RD by mixing hip-hop, ndombolo, rumba and soukous.
Popular music of the Revolution (MPR) is a hip-hop group formed in 2016 in the commune of Matete, Kinshasa, by Yuma Dash and Zozo Machine. Originally known as the Resistance Bantus, the duo adopts its current identity with reference to the Popular Movement of the Revolution of the Zairean era, whose aesthetics it takes with humor and retreat.
The band is hip-hoping by mixing it with local musical styles — ndombolo, rumba, soukous — and its texts focus on the daily realities of Kinshasa and the entire DR Congo. The title " Dollars" (2019) launches its fame, followed by "Sembeki" (2020), "Malembe" (2021) and "Nini to sali te?" (2021), which has become a generational anthem widely commented in the Congolese and international press.
MPR published the EP "Seseko" in 2022 at Lotus Music, then the EP "Prior to the album" in 2024 and the single "Losambo" in 2025. The duo also performed outside its borders, notably as a guest of the Ponton Miziki Festival in Pointe-Noire, confirming its place among the most listened Congolese urban voices.
