N'Faly Kouyaté
« Le griot avant-garde » — Kora · balafon · percussion — singer, composer, arranger
Biographie
Born in Siguiri, Guinea, in a line of mandingues griots, N'Faly Kouyaté receives the kora as one receives a memory. Installed in Belgium since 1994 and formed at the Royal Conservatory of Belgium, he makes it an instrument of today: singer, composer and arranger, he sings in five languages — mandingue, soussou, pular, French, English. His album FINISHING invented the "Euro-Afrotronix": kora, balafon, djembé and calabasse face to the strings and electronics. Concert of presentation at the Ancienne Belgique (Brussels) on 25 May 2026, with Tiken Jah Fakoly and Didier Awadi.
