Rancho Aparte
Chirimía du Chocó, which makes the world dance — Group — chirimía chocoana, music from the Colombian Pacific
Biographie
Founded in 2005 in Quibdó, capital of Chocó, Rancho Aparte makes Chocó chirimía vibrate — clarinets, brass and percussion of the Colombian Pacific — with the energy of a street orchestra. Led by Dino Manuelle, the group was named best chirimía group at Petronio Álvarez 2013, then took its party to WOMEX 2015, Fuji Rock 2018 and the 2024 New Orleans Jazz Fest. In 2025, it closed Cali's Petronio Álvarez in Big Band form.
