Africa's most award-winning rapper, Ghana's world ambassador since Tema.
Michael Owusu Addo, says Sarkodie, was born and grew up in Tema, the neighboring port city of Accra. Revealed in the late 2000s, it imposes a rapid and precise flow, often in the Twi language, and becomes the most decorated Ghanaian rapper in history, including a BET Award for the best international artist.
Founder of the Sarkcess Music label, he has multiplied the success albums — from "Make" to "Jamz" — and the international collaborations, from Castro on the classic "Adonai" to Black Sherif on "Country Side". His annual Rapperholic concert, a major event in Ghana's musical calendar, has exported to the Royal Albert Hall in London.
A respected artist-entrepreneur, Sarkodie remains a leading figure in West African music, mentor of a whole generation of Ghanaian rappers whom he regularly highlights on his projects.
