Scotts Maphuma
A must-see voice of the new wave of amapiano, Scotts Maphuma continues the tubes, from "Biri Marung" to the pan-African phenomenon "Nakupenda".
Originally from Daveyton, Johannesburg, Scotts Maphuma has established himself as one of the most recognizable vocalists of the Amapiano, thanks to a energetic diction and choruses designed for the dance tracks. His title "Ebo Lapho" places him in the lead of South African "breakout" artists according to Spotify Wrapped 2024, alongside Zee Nxumalo.
In 2024, he participated in the "Biri Marung" tube, alongside Mr Pilato, Ego Slimflow, Tebogo G Mashego, DJ Maphorisa and Focalistic: the title became a national success, certified platinum, and appeared in the Spotify Global Impact List 2025 of the most exported South African songs.
His video "Sya'Waver", published on his own channel, exceeds twenty million views. At the end of 2025, he joined TxC, Davido, Shoday, Zlatan and Al Xapo on "Nakupenda", a pan-African collaboration between Amapiano and Afrobeats ranked 11 by the Shazam Global Chart, before announcing in 2026 the joint EP Gijima with Bob Mabena.
