ST (ST Brikama Boyo)
ST, the "Brikama Boyo", is the superstar of Gambian rap: an Afro-manding flow that fills the stadiums and carries the voice of a whole youth.
From its real name Sanna Singhateh, ST grew up in Brikama and became known in 2010 with the mixtape GA On Fire, before a first album, Distinction, in 2013.
His fusion of hip-hop, afrobeats and traditional mandingues sounds makes him the most popular Gambian artist of his generation, with albums like Gambiana (2019), Dinging Mansa (2021) and Asitaleh (2023).
Winner of the Wah Sa Halat Music Awards in 2017 and 2018, he entered history in 2018 by filling the Independence Stadium (30,000 places) for the launch of his album Saluto — a first for a Gambian artist.
An independent artist, he founded his own label, Brikama Boyo Entertainment, and multiplied his solidarity gestures, such as taking charge of six years of schooling for a young fan who became viral thanks to his resuming of his title "Cigareto".
