Tyla Laura Seethal was born on January 30, 2002 in Edenvale and grew up in Johannesburg. She became known in 2019 with the single "Getting Late", and in 2021 she was signed by Epic Records, which launched her internationally.

In July 2023, "Water" changed everything: the title entered the top 10 in the United States and the United Kingdom — a first for a South African soloist at Billboard Hot 100 in 55 years — and won in February 2024 the inaugural Grammy of the best African musical performance, making Tyla the youngest African artist to win a Grammy.

His first album, "Tyla" (22 March 2024), then "Push 2 Start", the EP "WWP" (2025) and the album "A*Pop" (2026), have been permanently installing his mix of amapiano, pop and R&B, carried by closed-window world tours.
