Born Fanuel Phabian Peter and raised in Mwanza, Vanillah — nicknamed "Spana" — is a singer, songwriter and guitarist of formation. He first made a name in the shadow, as a pen for other artists, contributing in particular to Alikiba's success "Utu", from the album Only One King (2021).

In 2019, he won the Super Nyota competition, organized by Clouds Media Group, and joined Kings Music Records, the label founded by Alikiba. He built there from a repertoire that combines the Bongo Flava melody with Afro-pop and R&B influences, with titles such as "Wivu", in duo with Kenya's Otile Brown, or "I Gat U".

His recognition now goes beyond Tanzania: Apple Music selected him in his Up Next development program for East Africa, placing him among the new voices to follow from the continent. He continues a regular single activity, until "Bunduki", in collaboration with Malume, released in October 2026.
