Veronica Adane
An Ethiopian singer with a diploma in journalism, Veronica Adane conquered the continent with her album Meteriyaye and a remarkable collaboration with Rayvanny.
Born in Addis Ababa, Veronica Adane grew up in a musical family — her father, Adane Teka, is a well-known traditional singer. She graduated in journalism and communication from Mekelle University, first became known by viral singing videos, before releasing her first single, "Nalegn", in February 2020.
Her title "Tew" (2021), broadcast by Nahom Records, exceeds thirteen million views and installs it among the major voices of the new Ethiopian pop. In August 2024, she released her album Meteriyaye, twelve tracks mixing Ethiopian traditions and contemporary production, distributed internationally by Zojak World Wide, which dominates the Ethiopian music scene.
Consecration became continental: at the Zikomo Africa Awards 2025 in Dar es Salaam, she was distinguished for her performance and her influence as an Ethiopian artist. In October 2026, she took a new stage with "Bironica", a cross-border collaboration with Tanzanian star Bongo Flava Rayvanny, who celebrated the Wolita culture of southern Ethiopia.
