Lagos' "Starboy", a world superstar in the afrobeats since "Ojuelegba" and "Essence".
Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, says Wizkid, was born on 16 July 1990 in Surulee, Lagos. Signed very young by EME, he explodes with the album "Superstar" (2011) and then conquers the world with "Ojuelegba" (2014), a title that attracts the attention of Drake and Skepta.
He founded Starboy Entertainment and released the major albums: "Sounds from the Other Side" (2017), "Made in Lagos" (2020) — carried by the phenomenon "Essence" with Tems —, "More Love, Less Ego" (2022) and "Maryo" (2024), dedicated to his missing mother.
Among the most award-winning and listened to African artist on the planet, Wizkid fills the world's largest venues, from the O2 Arena in London to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, and remains the leading figure in the global afrobeats.
