Xaven
A copy of the Copperbelt signed by Nexus Music, Xaven has become the leading figure in Zambian female rap.
Rachel Mwewa, known as Xaven, grew up in the Copperbelt province, the birthplace of Zambian rap, before settling in Lusaka. She built a powerful flow, in both Bemba and English, which made her one of the most respected women's voices in her country's hip-hop.
Signed by Nexus Music Entertainment, she has been playing popular titles — "Ndine Olowa", "Kuifililwa" with Chef 187, "Bounce" with Nez Long — and collaborations with Zambia's greatest names, from Yo Maps to Nez Long, including on the title "Aye".
The year 2025 dedicated his reign: Best female artist at the Kwacha Music Awards, Best musician at the Ngoma Awards and Best female hip-hop artist at the Zikomo Africa Awards. The BBC even dedicated a portrait to him in This Is Africa, presenting her to the world as the queen of the rap of the Copperbelt.
