The festival
In Iqaluit, the capital of Nunavut, the Alianait Arts Festival is presented as the circumpolar scene of the world: since 2005, under the sun that does not lie down, it brings together Inuit and circumpolar artists — musicians, dancers, filmmakers, circus artists, storytellers and visual artists — for four days of celebration around the summer solstice. Its most recent edition was held from June 18 to 21, 2026, under the theme Pisiit/Ayaya, Inuit traditional songs.
