The festival
Art-Gene, at the Museum of Ethnography in the open air in Tbilisi, is a way to promote Georgian folklore. Created in 2004, this one-week festival, each July, brings together ensembles of polyphonic songs, dancers and artisans from all regions of the country. It is moving from a traditional concert to a craft workshop, between ancient houses of the museum and open-air scenes. It is Georgia of villages that goes up to the capital, to transmit its music and trades to the younger generations.
