The festival
The official calendar 2027 opens on Thursday, January 21st with the Desfile Inaugural on avenue 18 of Julio, followed by the parade of the schools of samba on the 22nd, and the Concurso Oficial de Agrupaciones, which begins on Monday, January 25th at the Teatro de Verano Ramón Collazo: the murgas are spreading their satire sung of the news, between periodistas, humoristas and revistas.
The popular summit arrives on February 5 and 6, 2027: the Desfile de Llamadas, where the compassas de candombe Afro-Uruguayen make their tambores (chico, repique and piano) thunder in the street Isla de Flores, in the heart of the Barrio Sur. And all summer, the neighborhood tablados make live the party around each street.
