Winter Carnival · Quebec, Quebec, Canada

The festival
Less than twenty outside, the heart burning in: Bonhomme opens the doors of his ice palace and Québec becomes a party. Heir to the 19th century winter carnivals, the modern Carnival was born in 1955, with Bonhomme Carnival as ambassador in 1954 — a arrow belt, a red tuque and a smile of compact snow. Presented as the world's largest winter carnival, it is organized by the Quebec Carnival and transforms the capital for ten days.
The program includes: the Palais de Bonhomme, making 100% ice in front of Parliament, the sculptures of ice and snow, two Night parades, musical evenings and the mythical canoe race on the iced river between Quebec and Lévis. The 73rd edition will take place from February 5-14, 2027, in the heart of Old Quebec.
