The festival
In Montreal, when November settled, the French-speaking song took over the city: Coup de coeur francophone made Montreal's theatres vibrate — and the whole country. Founded in 1987 by Alain ChartrandFor forty years, the festival has defended the song from here and elsewhere, from safe values to discoveries, in a spirit of freedom summarized in its 2026 slogan: "40 years of freedom!"
Since 1995, its Pan-Canadian Network has been making French-language music travel in more than 45 cities across Canada — from Acadia to Alberta, to New Brunswick and to Quebec. The 40th edition is held from November 5 to 15, 2026, in Montreal and across the country, as the fall meeting of the Canadian Francophonie.
