The festival
The annual pastoral gathering of Ingall, in the Ighazer plain, the Cure Salée marks the end of the rainy season and the transhumance of herds towards pastures and saltwaters. It mainly brings together the Tuarègue communities, Peulh Wodaabe and other nomadic herders from Niger and neighbouring countries. Reunions, trade exchanges, weddings, songs and traditional dances, beauty contests of the Guéréwol among the Wodaabe and camel races are the rhythm of the festival.
The Niger State has been officially accompanying and organizing this event since the 1970s.
