Defqon.1
Defqon.1 · Biddinghuizen, Netherlands
The festival
Defqon.1 is the world's largest festival dedicated to hard music: hardstyle, hardcore, uptempo and raw. Organized by Q-dance, the Dutch specialist of the genre, it transforms the event field of Walibi Holland, in Biddinghuizen (Flevoland), the world capital of Weekend Warriors — the nickname its festivalgoers have given themselves from all continents.
For four days, the festival aligns about fifteen scenes, each dedicated to a color of the hard spectrum: the RED, the main scene with the monumental decorations renewed each year, the BLUE, the BLACK, the UV... The rituals are part of the legend: the opening ceremony, the "Power Hour" crazy and the Saturday evening The Endshow, the final bouquet of fireworks and lasers that ignite the plain. The festival is reserved for the over 18 years and its ticketing passes through the official site of Q-dance.
The 2026 edition will remain in the annals for a new reason: it was cancelled on the very day of its opening on 25 June 2026, due to a hot red alert from KNMI — a first in the history of the festival and the Netherlands. Q-dance immediately confirmed the return of Defqon.1 from Thursday 24 to Sunday 27 June 2027, in the same place: the Weekend Warriors already have their appointment.
