The festival
At the foot of the ruins of Domboshaba, a few kilometres from Masunga in northeastern Botswana, the Domboshaba Cultural Festival revives the culture of the Bakalanga. Since 2007, it has been carried by the Domboshaba Cultural Trust, aligning traditional dances — hosana, woso, ndazula, mukomoto — with guided tours of the ruins and tastings of the Kalanga terroir. Families and young people of the district gather around the festivals of Independence to transmit language, memory and pride.
A festival of roots, celebrated right where the history of the Bakalangas was written in stone.
You are at a festival, a concert, a village party, a traditional party, a private party — even two or three, on a boat or on a plane? Send us your images: Festival TV analyses them, and if they are broadcast, they pass on with your name in credit. Program in preparation. All the parties of the world interest us: we want to see how different communities celebrate life and manifest their joy.
