Edmonton Heritage Festival
The whole world in three days: pavilions, kitchens and dances of dozens of cultures · William Hawrelak Park, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada
The festival
In Edmonton, the Edmonton Heritage Festival transforms William Hawrelak Park into a three-day tour of the world. Dozens of cultural pavilions, held by the city's communities, serve their kitchens, show dances and music, crafts and stories. Presented as the world's largest three-day multiculturalism festival, it took over its historic site in 2026, after three years at Exhibition Lands and Borden Park during the park's renovation.
Good to know
The festival is rooted in the Heritage Day, which Alberta declared in 1974 and has been held since 1976, with the Edmonton Heritage Festival Association, a non-profit community organization. Admission is free and cultural dance and music shows are also available; food is purchased directly at the pavilions. The Government of Canada presents the event as the largest three-day celebration of multiculturalism in the country, attracting more than 300,000 visitors each year.
