Quebec Celtic Festival
The unmissable Celtic Francophone festival, back in 2027 · Domaine de Maizerets, Québec, Québec, Canada
The festival
Founded in 2005, the Festival Celtique de Québec celebrates the heritage of the Celtic nations that shaped Quebec — Scottish, Irish and Breton first, and also Gallois, Cornouaillais and Mannois. For three days, at Domaine de Maizerets, music, dance, crafts, gastronomy and Highland Games, the "celtitude" that most Quebecers of European origin share is reviving.
After its 20th edition in September 2025, the festival takes a year of transition: its 21st edition will take place in September 2027, the year of the 180th anniversary of the massive arrival of Irish immigration to Quebec.
Good to know
The festival, which was founded with the support of the Morrin Centre and a $1,200 budget, is now supported by an independent not-for-profit organization. Its official tartan, created in 2014 by Patrice Lambert MacLeod, combines the blue and white of Scotland and Quebec with the green, white and orange of Ireland. Access to the site is free.
