The festival
The world capital of comics is raising its head: after the crisis that has taken the historic team, Angoulême is about to reopen its bubbles. On 14 October 2026, the court of justice in Angoulême rejected all the appeals of the former organizers (FIBD association and 9th Art+, liquidated in May 2026) and validated the new team gathered around the ADBDA and the Morgane group.
The result: a new comic book appointment from January 27 to 31, 2027 — five days to reborn the most mythical 9th art festival: exhibitions, dedications, authors from all over the world and an entire city transformed into a comic book box.
Good to know
The 2026 edition of the historic festival had been cancelled on the background of boycotts of authors. Name, identity and first contents of the new appointment will be unveiled on November 3, 2026.
