The festival

Daoulaba is the great festival of Malian cotton. The festival was created in 2007 in Bamako by the designer and designer Awa Meité, its founding director, in the continuation of the Daoula project carried by its association Routes du Sud, founded in 1998 to enhance the materials and know-how of Mali. Daoulaba celebrates the "white gold" of the country and the talent of those who work it — peasants, weavers, dyers, artisans and creators — from the field to the workshop.

Throughout the editions, the appointment makes you scroll through Malian and African fashion, exposes the craftsmanship and opens debates on the preservation of local cultures: Malian cotton, natural dyes with indigo and bogolan — the cotton cloth tinted with clays, the textile emblem of Mali — are at the heart of the celebration.

The 15th edition, presented under the name "Daoulaba Cotton & Craft Fashion Week 2026", will be held from Thursday 26th to Sunday 29th November 2026 in Bamako, according to the official poster of the festival.
