The festival
The Husa Festival is the showcase of the heritage of the former imperial capital of Vietnam (1802-1945). Launched in 2000 as a biennial, it has made the citadel, royal tombs and banks of the river of Perfume an open-air scene: court music (nhã nh的c, registered at UNESCO), reconstructions of the rituals of the Nguysa Dynasty, theatre, dance, kite competitions, royal gastronomy and invited troops from all over the world.
Since 2026, the festival has adopted a year-round "four seasons" format — the spring of royal rituals, the summer of the international big week (including International Music Week and Lotus Festival in June), the autumn of lanterns and mid-fall, the winter of shows and countdowns — with nearly 80 activities, in a city classified as a World Heritage since 1993.
Good to know
The four-season format and the 2026 programme are described by the Vietnamese Ministry of Culture (Portal in English); the window from 25 March to 7 April 2026 corresponds to the spring high-time taken over by tourist programming.
