The festival

In Iferouane, the oasis-city of the Agadez region, in the heart of the Air massif between golden dunes and blue mountains, the Festival de l'Air celebrates the cultures of the Nigerese Sahara. After two years of interruption, its 17th edition was held from 5 to 7 December 2025, under the theme "Valorization of internal tourism and crafts: pillars of national sovereignty and resilient development".

Camel racing and harnessing contests, equestrian parades, dances, concerts, singing contests, poetry and costumes, and the great Tendé du soir around the fire: three days at the rhythm of nomadic traditions and Tuareg know-how — leather, metal, jewellery, textiles.
