The festival
Bukhara is now a caravanseral again. The Silk and Spices Festival celebrates the past of the great stage of the Silk Route of the Old City: an opening parade takes the streets back into the days of caravans loaded with silk and spices from China to Europe. Craftsmen from all over Uzbekistan show gold embroidery, hand weaving, wood carving and carpeting, between master classes, tasting of plov and parade of young designers.
The 21st edition was held from June 6 to 8, 2025, with sports demonstrations at the fortress of Ark and evening programs in the madrasas. A market party where know-how touches, tastes and takes off.
