The festival
In Labé, capital of Fouta-Djalon, we laugh seriously: the FAR — Festival des Arts et du Rire — has become one of Guinea's major cultural rendezvous. Founded in 2015 by actor Mamadou Thug (Mamadou Lamine Diallo) and its structure Soudou Dardja Prod, it mixes stand-up, theatre, music, tale, exhibitions, trainings and competitions, at the Ka Werdhè Cultural Centre and throughout the city.
Its 9th edition, from 4 to 11 May 2026, under the theme "Landing", made Guinea an artistic destination, with Senegal as a guest country of honour and the Boké region as a special guest.
Key facts
The 10th edition of the RAF will be held from 28 March to 4 April 2027, on the theme "Maturity", with Côte d'Ivoire as guest of honour.
Good to know
No edition in 2021; the 8th edition was held from 4 to 12 May 2025 (theme "Patri'moine").
