The festival
The masks come out of the forest, and all forest Guinea is told: the FESMAF celebrates for the first time, in N'Zérékoré, masks, dances, songs and know-how of forest communities. The festival was officially launched on 21 September 2026 at the Maison de la Presse in Conakry, with the support of the Ministry of Culture, the National Organizing Committee chaired by Alexandre Cécé Loua.
Two days to say that masks are not mere objects: carriers of history, symbols and values transmitted from generation to generation — and a lever of peace and development for an entire region.
