The festival

In Mauritius, the Festival Internacional Kreol celebrates every month of December the authenticity of Creole culture: music, arts, language, crafts and cuisine, according to the Ministry of Tourism, which carries the festival with the Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority. The launch is made at the Morne, then the festival is swarming all over the country — great concert in the Salines, in Port-Louis, sega jazz and sirandanas, culinary festival, humor shows and final regatta in Mahébourg.

This is the event where Mauritian artists show their talents and where the whole island recognizes itself in its creativity. The 2024 edition was held from December 12 to 22; the 2025 edition was announced from December 5 to 7, and no 2027 edition is yet announced.
